3 Things to NEVER Leave Out at an Open House or Showing

Your agent suggests and Open House or schedules a showing for you. How exciting, you think. Real promise of a buyer is coming through your doorway. You know you shouldn't leave piles of cash around or prescription drugs lying on the bathroom counter but there are couple of other things you should hide when prospective buyers start looking around you home.

Tuck these far, far away and you should be good!

1.  Space Heaters, Fans, and More

Some of these items give a buyer the wrong idea about the house right away. A space heater in your sunroom? The room gets chilly in the winter, a buyer will think. Multiple fans in the bedrooms? Oh, the house must be too hot! A book beside your bed on how to cope with nosey neighbors? No... this is a big no.

2. Your "I'm With Her" of your "Make America Great Again" Hat

Buyers zone in on political endorsements and just like you don't post your political views on social media sites because of backlash in this savaged political climate we live in, you don't want to alienate a buyer. Hide these well.

3. Full or Empty Ashtrays Outside

Cigarettes are a huge turnoff to buyers. Even an empty ashtray suggests you may have smoked inside at one time or snuck one on a cold day. Cigarette smoke can cause lasting damage to the inside of a home and one many buyers don't want to deal with.

Once you have sold your home, feel free to do as you please but when you are on the market, your home is a commodity. Think of it that way.
