It's Showtime! What To Do and What Not To Do

The sign is up and you are ready to show your home off! In any market, a hot one or not, you need to have your house prepared to show as soon as you are live! What should you do and not do for a showing?

Upgrades and Repairs:

If your home has undergone some major changes since you purchased your home, you may want to list these out. Many people will never even look at these but if they are interested they will. Upgrading your brass knobs on your kitchen is not a big deal to the buyer, but a new furnace, hot water heater or brand new roof is. Any transferable warranty should also be noted.

The list doesn't have to be long as I've stated, most people will not even notice it unless they do and if they do, they are not going to read a long list. A simple record is fine. If a professional was called in to do work, show receipts.

Neighborhood Info:

Not everyone looking at your home is familiar with the area. Show off your neighborhood with any information you have such as if there is …

Dewey Beach, Delaware Bachelorette Weekend

My sister-in-law Lindsey is getting married soon. What does that mean, you ask. Bachelorette Weekend of Course!

Friday night we had tickets for The Legwarmers a fun 80's cover band. Before the show we hit up Que Pasa--- a beautiful Mexican beach bar I will never go back to. The scene is beautiful and the drinks and the service was fine but the food was so-so.

After dinner we headed to Bottle and Cork where The Legwarmers were headlining. I've heard of The Legwarmers before and been invited before by another friend but this was my first show. What fun. I didn't dress up as many of the other girls but we danced, danced and danced. Of course drinks were consumed because it was a bachlorette party. Bottle and Cork is an amazing bar with a great layout. So many small bars to serve clients other than one long bar with a thousands outstretched arms with cash wanting to be the next served customer. I never had to wait a second to get another drink--- not sure if that was the best thing but.... hahaha.

Dewey Beach is the farthest north I have been to a beach. Looks a lot like the southern beaches if you ask me. Tropical Storm Cindy was in her remnant stages so she did churn up the water some making it a bit mucky. The water was chilly but once my feet were numb, I was alright.

We spent the day on the beach and then headed to Fins Fish House & Raw Bar for dinner. After not really eating anything I was super impressed with, I went for it---- I ordered the Lobster, Sweet Potato Mash and Corn Salsa... Again I was disappointed in my food. The company was great but the FOOD! Why?? The lobster was way overcooked and the corn salsa was very red oniony. The sweet potato mashers were my favorite part of the meal.

After that is time to bar hop. Rusty Rudder was right next to our hotel so we tried it out. Right on the bay, the scenery was amazing. The drinks were fine and I enjoyed the band.

The next morning it was time to pack up and head out. I had missed brunch the morning before because I slept in--- these girls were up at 6. Nope. They had eaten breakfast at the Starboard and raved about it so we were headed there again. The wait was 2 1/2 hours long and we had a drive back. So we walked. We wound up at Hammerheads and were pleasantly surprised with the food. I never get a pancake but was so in the mood for one. It was literally the best pancake I have ever eaten.

After breakfast it was time to head home. We all told each other goodbye and headed back to our homes--- from Raleigh, to Virginia Beach into Williamsburg, Richmond, DC and all the way to Germany. It was a nice weekend and I am very excited to see these girls again soon at the wedding!
